The Chasms of MorkërIn an epic series that is way out of the ordinary, fiction and history combine to create La Légende de Lezardo Da Vinci [The Legend of Lezardo Da Vinci]. Following the first volume, Après La Renaissance [After the Renaissance], and the second, L’Affrontement [The Confrontation], here is Les Abysses de Morkër. This episode takes us from Rome to Sweden’s hinterland by way of Spain and Bulgaria on another odyssey that is rich in plot twists and searching questions. Moisan’s fantasy universe mixes adventure with legend and magic against a thoroughly researched historical backdrop where fictional characters meet Luther, Machiavelli, the Chevaliers d’Avignon and other dominant figures of the period. The adventures of the Italian reptile man give rise to deeper questions about the meaning of life itself, set during a major turning point in human history – the advent of the Renaissance, following the dark centuries of the Middle Ages.
