Details

The public discussion will take place within the framework of the Frankfurt Book Fair Canada Guest of Honour presentation with the exhibition “#Feedback 5: Global Warning! Marshall McLuhan & the Arts”. The current situation of the book market, the future of the book, and the new digital formats will be discussed from the perspective of both the creative industries and literary studies, in comparison with statements by Marshall McLuhan, who was an early thinker on books in the electronic age.

Welcome address by H.E. Stéphane Dion (Ambassador of Canada to Germany).

Panelists: 

– Holger Volland (Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair and initiator of THE ARTS+)

– Prof. Dr. Angela Krewani (Institute for Media Studies, University of Marburg).

– Moderated by Dr. Baruch Gottlieb (Curator “Feedback 5”, media artist).

Before and after the talk there will be the opportunity to visit the exhibition “#Feedback 5: Global Warning! Marshall McLuhan & the Arts” or the museum café.
