Author and Screenwriter - Quebec
Sophie Bienvenu is an author and screenwriter. Her first novel, Et au pire, on se mariera (La mèche, 2011), also brought to the big screen by Léa Pool in 2017, won her the Arcades de Bologna prize, the Prix du premier roman de Chambéry and was a finalist for the 2013 edition of the Prix littéraire des collégiens. She has published the novels Chercher Sam (2014, Searching for Sam by Talonbooks in 2020) and Autour d’elle (2016, finalist for the Prix des Libraires du Québec), translated into English by Talonbooks (Around her, in 2018). Chercher Sam will be published in German by Ullstein-Verlag in 2020. Bienvenu is currently working on her fourth novel and a feature film project.
