Joséphine Bacon is an Indigenous poet (Innu) originally from Pessamit, Canada. Three of her books of poetry have been published by Mémoire d’encrier: Bâtons à message – Tshissinuatshitakana (2009 Readers’ Award, Marché de la poésie de Montréal 2010); Un thé dans la toundra – Nipishapui nete mushuat (finalilst for the 2013 Governor General’s Award and for the Grand prix du livre de Montréal 2014) and Uiesh – Quelque part (2018, Prix des Libraires du Québec 2019, poetry category; Indigenous Voices Awards 2019; Prix littéraire des enseignants de français, poetry category, 2019).
